True Skool

TRUE Skool currently offers the Urban Arts Program and the Adopt a Community Program. The Urban Arts Program provides instruction in music, art and dance for youth between the ages of 14–19 years old and provides project and community service based opportunities that address issues of social justice and restorative justice. The Adopt a Community Program takes a unique approach to strengthen and beautify communities through neighborhood-based environmental, social, and artistic initiatives. Our goal is to provide neighborhood restoration and community transformation by adopting a community from July-September. TRUE Skool will be a guest of the Bay View Bash 2011.

Milwaukee Community Compost Network

The Milwaukee Community Compost Network is seeking to expand its current program providing a community-operated, local, decentralized composting operations that produces high quality organic soil for urban agriculture purposes by composting local organic residuals from local businesses and private homes.

South Shore Park Watch

The Park Watch would like to develop a long-term comprehensive plan including an ecological plan for a broader group of County owned properties including Cupertino Park, South Shore Park, the nearby County owned marina, Bay View Park (south of Oklahoma Avenue) and the connecting Oak Leaf Trail. Background: The Parks Department performed some very controversial maintenance on the bluffs above the bike path that many residents feel could hasten erosion. The Park Watch has stepped up to the challenge of repairing the bluff.
