CLOSE 10-MIDNIGHTThe pressure is off. Sitting is allowed. Many hands make quick work. There will be litter to pick up. The Bash volunteers have taken particular pride in the spotless look of the street on Sunday morning.
BARRICADE GUARDAfter the litter brigade we need about ten volunteers with cell phones to watch the barricades. Traffic is not allowed until the stages are moved. This could go to 1 a.m., maybe. The Milwaukee Police have been very helpful during this period by using their squads to block KK Avenue.
GLOWThe street becomes quiet. Sit a moment and wonder at what we’ve done together. If you have the energy let’s get a beer. If you still have a ticket, I will buy.
OCTOBER 25, tentativelyPublic meeting to help decide how to distribute Bash profits you helped raise.
All DayComposting, Recycling. Trashing only trash. We are teaching people how to separate. You will learn from volunteers who have studied composting with Will Allen’s crew, and have been trained in Recycling by the City.
